Pink October, the month dedicated to raising awareness and the fight against breast cancer, which remains a major health issue for women.
Breast cancer unfortunately remains the most common among women, affecting on average one in eight women during their lifetime. In Morocco, it is the most diagnosed cancer.
However, when it is detected early, the treatment outlook is more favorable, with lighter and less aggressive therapies. Early detection plays an essential role in limiting the after-effects and considerably improving the quality of life of patients.
Let’s mobilize to fight breast cancer!
Breast self-palpation is the first link in screening. It is a simple, free and reliable means of detection which could lead to a diagnosis of cancer. Please note that self-palpation does not replace the clinical examination carried out by your doctor and even less a mammogram!
Experts recommend radiological screening for breast cancer at the age of 45, with a mammogram once every 2 years.
