PREVENTING ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION

We consider that a person suffers from high blood pressure when we notice on two occasions, and not on the same day, a blood pressure greater than or equal to 14/9 cmHg.

High blood pressure is common, but can be serious if left untreated. People with high blood pressure may not experience symptoms. The only way to know is to check your blood pressure.

Lifestyle changes can, a priori, prevent high blood pressure:

  • Eat more vegetables and fruits;
  • Sit less time;
  • Be more active, by practicing activities such as walking, swimming, dancing;
  • Lose weight if you are overweight or obese.
